ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATIONS

EV CHARGING STATIONS

The Gotthard motorway service station has 10 fast charging stations in each direction from well-known providers IONITY and MOVE.

  • IONITY CSS connector up to 350 kW
  • MOVE CSS connector up to 50 kW
  • MOVE CHAdeMO connector up to 50 kW
  • MOVE Type 2 connector up to 44 kW

IONITY and MOVE

The 12 charging stations from IONITY have a charging capacity of up to 350 kW and feature a CSS connector. The 8 charging stations from MOVE have charging capacity of up to 50 kW and can be used with connector types CSS, CHAdeMO, Type 2 and adaptors for Tesla. The Gotthard service station in Uri provides one of the most powerful EV charging facilities along the A2 motorway, with the ability to charge almost all types of EV.  Both providers accept RFID card and mobile phone app payments.

HOW POWERFUL ARE THE CHARGING STATIONS?

IONITY EV charging stations feature technology that automatically optimises the charging speed to the maximum permitted by your battery. Your EV must support the CSS standard for this to work. Your vehicle will always be charged at the maximum possible speed – whether 150 or 350 kW. Six fast charging stations are available in both directions of travel which can charge all EVs at their maximum possible rate.

WHICH CONNECTION TYPES ARE AVAILABLE?

IONITY has put an end to the confusion of various different connectors and has settled on one single type: the Combined Charging System (CCS) standard. CSS is the most widely used EV charging standard in Europe and is compatible with almost all current and future EVs.

WHICH PAYMENT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE?

The easiest and most convenient solution: Use the charging service from your car manufacturer. This way you can ensure that your vehicle and charging service will work together perfectly, e.g. if you want to control charging via the manufacturer’s app or use new technologies such as Plug & Charge. Plug & Charge is available on the IONITY network and allows you to simply plug the charging station cable into your car and to start charging right away. Plug & Charge is a new technology that is currently being implemented in new EV models. Please ask your manufacturer if Plug & Charge is implemented in your vehicle.

It is, of course, still possible to charge your EV where an MSP contract with IONITY is not in place. IONITY offers two tariffs for direct customers.

IONITY DIRECT
The IONITY DIRECT standard tariff allows you to charge your EV at all charging stations in the IONITY network. If you rarely drive long distances or only occasionally need motorway tariffs, then IONITY DIRECT is the right choice for you.

IONITY PASSPORT
IONITY PASSPORT is the ideal tariff for those who frequently drive long distances, nationally or internationally. IONITY PASSPORT gives you full access to all charging stations in the IONITY network throughout Europe for 12 months.

WHAT IS THE PRICE PER KW AT CHARGING STATIONS?

The price per kW of electricity at the charging stations depends on your selected tariff and current electricity prices. These are set by the charging station provider. The current pricing models can be found via the link below.

WHERE CAN I FIND MOVE EV CHARGING STATIONS?

MOVE allows you to charge your EV throughout the MOVE network and its partner networks at fixed prices that you know in advance. MOVE is one of the largest networks in Switzerland. This gives you access to guaranteed tariffs at thousands of charging stations throughout the whole of Europe! MOVE itself has more than 1,290 of its own charging stations in Switzerland with an additional 80,000 charging stations available throughout Europe.

HOW POWERFUL ARE MOVE CHARGING STATIONS?

Four charging points are available in each direction of travel. These feature various connector types with a power rating up to 50 kW as well as a Tesla adapter.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHARGE WITHOUT A SUBSCRIPTION AND REGISTRATION?

A subscription is not required to use public MOVE Mobility charging stations. All fast charging stations along the motorways are equipped with credit card readers. Our charging stations at the Gotthard motorway services also have credit card terminals. This makes charging just as easy as with any other conventional charging station. The display on the station shows the prices and instructions.

All other MOVE charging stations without card terminals have an Intercharge sticker. These can be activated via the MOVE smartphone app or by scanning the QR code on the station. Charge your EV quickly and easily with the same process throughout Europe using Intercharge. The Intercharge sticker is located on the side of the charging station (AC charging stations) or below the connector (fast charging stations).

  1. Scan the QR code on the charging station
  2. Select the desired charging duration
  3. Enter your credit card information
  4. Activate charging

ARE THERE ANY OTHER CHARGING STATIONS NEARBY?

The network of EV charging stations along the A2 motorway is constantly growing. Just a few kilometres away from us there are currently two charging stations being installed at the Erstfelld rest area and Amsteg. They are expected to open in summer 2022.

About 50 km north is the Neuenkrich service station, which also has IONITY fast charging stations. Travelling south, you will find a fast EV charging station at the Belinzona service station.

Numerous smaller providers with fewer charging stations and lower power ratings can also be found off the motorway.

LPG STATIONS

NATURAL GAS FUEL

In both northbound and southbound directions we have two LPG fuelling stations (no. 11 and 12)

  • LPG fuelling station

VITOGAZ

Most of the liquified gas (LPG) from VITOGAZ available at our LPG pumps is sourced from Swiss producers and is made during the processing of crude oil into fuels. The crude oil does not come from Russia. It is currently difficult to forecast how LPG prices will develop, but its availability is assured.

In Switzerland you are allowed to fuel your vehicle with LPG yourself. If you require any assistance, simply let our staff in the shop know and we will be happy to help you and provide you with the required adapter for most types of vehicle.

Warning: Vehicles designed for use with CNG/GPL natural gas cannot be filled.

IS LPG FUEL ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?

LPG vehicles can make an effective contribution to significantly reducing the pollution resulting from road traffic without having to restrict your mobility.

NO SOOT OR PARTICULATES

Using LPG improves air quality, especially in large cities and conurbations, as almost no particulate matter or nitrous oxide is produced during combustion.

Less CO2

Using LPG results in less CO2 emissions: by 21 per cent compared to petrol, and by 23 per cent compared to diesel.

We do not currently have hydrogen fuelling facilities. This is because the production and transport of hydrogen to our location is presently neither economical nor ecological. We continue to watch the market closely so that we can respond if and when conditions change.

FUELS

PETROL AND DIESEL FUELS

In cooperation with our partners Socar and Eni we guarantee the highest quality fuel. Both fuel stations have 8 fuelling pumps with all products as well as two diesel pumps with fast fuelling for trucks.

  • Unleaded 95 petrol
  • Unleaded 98 petrol
  • Diesel
  • Diesel Tech+

S E

SOCAR

On 1 July 2012 SOCAR from ExxonMobil acquired the entirety of Esso Schweiz GmbH, which includes all Esso branded fuel stations. Today, SOCAR is committed to delivering top class, high-quality products and services and is setting new standards in the Swiss petrol station and energy market. SOCAR Energy Switzerland is owned by the state energy company of Azerbaijan.

ENI

Eni is an integrated energy company. The company has 29,000 employees and is active in 66 countries. It is involved in exploration, production, transport, refining and marketing of oil and gas. It is also active in the petrochemical industry and the development and operation of oil fields.

Unleaded, sulphur-free petrol is primarily intended for vehicles fitted with catalytic converters for cleaning the exhaust gases. It is commonly known as “Unleaded 95”. The extremely low sulphur content improves the efficiency and service life of catalytic converters in both old and new vehicles. It also reduces emissions of hazardous substances. These fuels contain effective cleaning additives to ensure good combustion in the engine and minimise the formation of deposits.

WHAT IS SOCAR VELVET 98 AND WHAT ARE ITS BENEFITS?

SOCAR VELVET 98 replaces the previous unleaded 98. It uses a new high-performance dual formula that has been specially developed to ensure a clean intake system, particularly the intake valves.

  • Powerful cleaning additives help remove most of the existing contamination of the engine caused by the use of fuels without these additives. Valves and engine components are maintained and retain their functionality – almost as good as they were on day one. VELVET 98, when used regularly, therefore lengthens service life.
  • Protective substances cover sensitive parts of the engine like a second skin, preventing the build up of new deposits.

VELVET 98 also features good anti-knock properties with 98 octane. Modern engines with intelligent knock sensor technologies can also exploit the full potential of high-octane fuels in the form of performance increases and a reduction in consumption.

Socar Diesel

The basis for a pioneering diesel generation is a high-quality diesel fuel, combined with a precise, scientifically determined quantity of the following additives:

  • Detergents: ensure clean injectors for better combustion. The benefit to you: A clean engine, no loss of performance, lower emissions and reduced noise.
  • Anti-foaming agents: reduces foam generation for filling the tank faster and more cleanly. The benefit to you: Convenience and time savings.
  • Corrosion protection: prevent damage from corrosion in the fuel system. The benefit to you: Operational reliability

Eni DieselTECH+

DieselTECH+ is a product developed by Eni that is offered at our fuelling station at the same price as standard diesel. The constant power output results in better engine responsiveness with reduced vibrations, less noise and smoother running. Thanks to its effect on the injector system, it guarantees optimal combustion and reduced emissions. Powerful injectors save diesel and reduce maintenance costs. Thanks to the properties of DieselTECH, engine performance is improved and diesel consumption significantly reduced.
